january 2021

Dear Transito member,

The unusual and challenging year 2020 has come to an end, and so have the first two blocks of the 2020-2021 academic year. Working from home, online education, online exams and online events have asked for a lot of flexibility from all of us. In this newsletter, we inform you about the events that could be organized in respect of the COVID regulations, upcoming Transito events and additional news.

On behalf of the 33rd Transito board, I wish you a happy and, above all, healthy 2021!

Mieke Jansen
Secretary/Vice president Transito 2020-2021

Rotterdam Day
Due to the COVID restrictions, the traditional Antwerp trip could not be organized. Instead, the 32nd Transito board organized the Rotterdam day on Saturday 19 September. The afternoon and evening were filled with a Crazy 88, a dinner at VIP, some more drinks and a lot of fun!

Board Announcement Drink
On Friday 25 September, the 33rd Transito was installed, followed by the first Transito social drink of the year. The new board thanks the 32nd board for all their efforts made in the past year and strives to serve all UPT students and Transito members in the best way possible in this challenging year! Meet the members of the 33rd board here!

Zoom Music Bingo
The new, stricter COVID regulations have forced all of us to be flexible in education, work and also social events. On Tuesday 10 November, Transito organized a music bingo via Zoom!

Study Trip
Every year, Transito organizes a study trip for its students. Over the past weeks, the study trip committee – led by Transito's activities officer Inès – has been working hard to map all opportunities with respect to the COVID regulations. In the coming months, they will continue this effort in order to organize a memorable study trip. Meet the members of the study trip committee on our website! Also, keep an eye on our social media channels for announcements on information sessions on the study trip.

Meet the Professors
In the current unusual circumstances in which students and teachers are only in touch via online means, Transito introduces the 2020-2021 UPT teachers to you in the course of this year, such that you can still get to know a bit more about your teachers! Which courses do they teach? How do they spend their spare time? What is their advice to you? Find it out here.

New Year, New Website!
In the past weeks, all board members have been working on a new website for Transito. Check out the new website!
